The best option, IMO, is to find such symbol or ornament fonts and make a
selection of their characters active. This means, that whenever such a
character is used later in the text body, it is automatically taken from that
selected particular font. And it is also possible to make them coulourful… The
ucharclasses packages should be helpful here.
