I use Emacs (24.3.1) for my work. I can input Hebrew words (though I don't know Hebrew, just the alphabet) ---Emacs immediately recognizes I'm typing Hebrew and shifts to RTL and back again, at least in the two major modes I use: AUCTeX and Org.
