Howdy, The xelatexmk engine is specific to TeXShop and not part of TeX Live (installed by MacTeX) although the latexmk program is part of TeX Live. I don't work on Windows systems so I don't know what's available in different front ends on that system. I suspect that at least some front ends use a make facility that can be adapted to using xelatex.
