It shows that the syntax is incorrect in the log file:
Unknown feature `Ligatures=TeX' in font `Gentium Basic'.
Unknown feature `Ligatures=TeX/OT' in font `Gentium Basic'.
Unknown feature `Ligatures=TeX/BI/OT' in font `Gentium Basic'.
Unknown feature `Ligatures=TeX/B/OT' in font `Gentium Basic'.
Unknown feature `Ligatures=TeX/I/OT' in font `Gentium Basic'.
But it should not be slow.
It may be a bug, which will hopefully be fixed by Khaled.
