If you buy XMLmind XSL-FO Converter Professional Edition Desktop
License, you'll have access to 2 software distributions:

[1] The XMLmind XSL-FO Converter engine.

[2] XMLmind XSL Utility.

Only [2] XMLmind XSL Utility allows to convert an XML file to PDF, in
addition to RTF, WordprocessingML, .odt, .docx, etc.

More information here:
http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/distributions.html

Out of the box, XMLmind XSL Utility seamlessly integrates free, Open
Source software component Apache FOP. It is this component which, under
the hood, is used to generate PDF.

There are no additional costs[*] if you want to generate PDF using
XMLmind XSL Utility (more precisely using the free, Open Source,
component Apache FOP -- http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/ -- which is
integrated in MLmind XSL Utility).

XMLmind XSL Utility runs on any Java 1.5+ platform, including Linux/Ubuntu.

---
[*] XMLmind XSL Utility also integrates RenderX XEP, a commercial
alternative (http://www.renderx.com/tools/xep.html) to Apache FOP.

If you are happy with the PDF generated by Apache FOP, then you have no
need to switch to RenderX XEP.

If you have problems with the PDF generated by Apache FOP and consider
switching to RenderX XEP, then please refer to this section:
http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/_distrib/doc/help/overview.html#xep_integration
