I was wondering if your product has any support for the generation of
auto numbered footnotes for xml->fo->RTF converter?
Footnoted generated within MS word allow for this. Footnotes generated
by the FO rely on the XSLT to generate the numbering, and these numbers
are fixed. I understand this might be a non standard function introduced
by MS word.
An example of our requirement would be:
An RTF is generated by the XSL-FO converter and it contains footnotes.
The RTF opened in MS word.
A new footnote is inserted by the user.
The existing footnotes (created by the fo->RTF) get renumbered dynamically.
If you could please advise if your product has any support for the above
example.
The answer is no:
1) The feature you describe cannot be expressed using standard XSL-FO 1.0.
2) XMLmind does not have a proprietary extension which may be used to
implement what you want.
Our proprietary extensions to XSL-FO are all documented here:
5. Support of the XSL-FO v1.0 standard, 5.4. Implementation specificities
