I was opening a DOCX (which is supported by Word 2007) file with Word
2003... It works much better with WML output. Sorry for the disturbance
and thanks for your help.

I'm using XFC 4.4.1 to generate a DOCX document. I'm using DocBook XSL
to generate the FO file to be formatted by XFC.
We do that all the time without *any* problem. See for example:
http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/_distrib/doc/user/userguide.docx
OR
http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/_distrib/doc/help/help.docx
(The source documents are DocBook. We used the stock DocBook XSL
stylesheets to generate the .docx files).
If I use a start-indent
property on the fo:flow element, all the content has the correct
specified indentation except for the tables where the indentation is
applied to the right side of the table. I've tried also the margin-left
property with the same result, the white space is applied to the right
of the table.
DocBook XSL generates a lot of nested blocks which is not adapted to
word processing output from what I've read.
May the problem come from that?
Does a subsequent version of XFC will solve this problem?
Sorry but I don't understand what is your problem. Please take the
time to file a *formal* bug report.
How to write a usable bug report is explained here:

Note that v4.4.1 is a quite old version (September 23, 2010). We must
be able to reproduce the problem using latest XFC release. You are
welcome to download our Evaluation Edition for that:
