Libsm is optional, but building the library without it fails with:
libxfcegui4/session-client.c:805: undefined reference to `_disconnect'
This function is indeed defined in the source but within an #ifdef HAVE_LIBSM
clause.
I'm not sure if this is also the case for libxfce4ui, IIRC it has an egg-sm
client so prolly not.
