Your question about sessions reminded me that I have set "~/.config/sessions/" as readonly (chmod 400) to workaround the common session restore bug. I want XFCE always to start in a clean session. There are dozens of threads like this: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=8082 After removing the folder so it is recreated segfaults are not occurring anymore.
