            Bug ID: 12054
Summary: Shutdown/restart no longer work with sudo
    Classification: Xfce
           Product: Xfce4-session
           Version: 4.12.0
          Hardware: PC (x86_64)
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: General
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

I always used sudo to run xfsm-shutdown-helper for shutdown and restart. In
4.12, this stopped working. The README claims this is still a supported
configuration, yet all the sudo code seems to have been ripped out, and now it
*only* uses pkexec, which is not very helpful for those of us who don’t use
PolicyKit—there’s still a disable-polkit/enable-polkit option to the configure
script, so I assume PolicyKit support is still meant to be optional, yet this
particular change rather breaks that view.
