Interesting.  As-is:

Current display has 1 screen(s) :

I recompiled it under gtk-2.0 (removing the workarea bit that doesn't seem to
be in gtk-2.0):
Current display has 1 screen(s) :
  - The screen #0 has 5 monitor(s) attached:
    * Screen #0, monitor #0, (0, 0) [1280 x 960]
    * Screen #0, monitor #1, (0, 960) [1920 x 1200]
    * Screen #0, monitor #2, (1280, 0) [1280 x 960]
    * Screen #0, monitor #3, (1920, 960) [1920 x 1200]
    * Screen #0, monitor #4, (2560, 0) [1280 x 960]

So it looks to be an upstream bug in GTK 3 then...
