I have the same problem. It is an Intel NUC connected to a TV via HDMI. It
doesn't just leak when the TV is off, but also when the TV is connected to a
different input. Similarly, when it starts up, HDMI audio works fine, but after
switching the TV to a different input and then back again, audio stops working.
KDE has the same problem.
