Hey folks,
Xfce 4.20~pre1 released this week[1], and I was wondering if we're
going to have it land in Rawhide anytime soon? I'd especially like to
get libxfce4windowing updated (which requires updating the
xfce4-dev-tools package) to unblock Budgie desktop work too.
If we're not ready yet to get the full desktop updated (presumably you
may want to have a Change document for Xfce 4.20?), can we get
xfce4-dev-tools updated so I can update libxfce4windowing?
yeah, we have usually waited pretty late to confirm that a Xfce release
is actually going to happen before filing a change and landing anything
in rawhide. We don't want to land a set of devel releases and then have
them go into the next stable release.
That said, yeah, it looks pretty good for a december release for 4.20,
so I think it's probibly good to file a Change and start lining things
up. Mukundan: you good with that? you want to file the change?
I'm happy to help.
Yup! I can't do the change request until Wednesday. I also plan to
starting building on COPR this coming week (including F41).
But yeah, I should be able to submit the request by Wed/Thu (Nov 13/14).
Could I go ahead and update xfce4-dev-tools for libxfce4windowing
since Xfce proper does not depend on it right now, but Budgie requires it?
Looks like dependent packages seem to build with it fine:

So I think ok from my side... Mukundan?
kevin
yes, absolutely. Please go ahead.
