here is how i solved the problem:
#Xconfigure then
#service xfs restart (this time it worked, i dont know how and why, only that got restarted successfully )
#startx

The X server can't find fonts.  You either need to change the fontpath
lines in XF86Config-4, or run a font server.  The simplest thing is to
run a font server, since Red Hat has already put a font search path in

/etc/X11/fs/config

Or, you can look at that file, and take the font search path (after
catalogue= ) and make each entry in the catalogue= list a FontPath line
in XF86Config-4.  You might want to make adjustments in the ordering or
whatnot, but doing this should get you going.  You can leave the
unix/:7100 line at the top of the list -- it will be ignored if a font
server is not available.
