Thanks a lot David,
it was the -d option (without any follow-up parameter)
that was urgently missing from my cvs-update commandline.
i just wrote that straight forward and didnt expetct it to silently
exclude anything in new subfolders from the update process.
I suggest to add this sample commandline to the XF86 web page.
There is no hint on how to use cvs update there at all.
