[XFree86] sis651 / font problems

Hi,
I am having two problems and wonder if anybody can help. I bought a notebook with a sis651 chipset. Does anyone know if one make the sis driver to work with this chipset. I am using Suse and thus tried it with sax2 but it didn't work and I don't have the experience to say whether I just have to change config files to make it work. Now I am running the whole thing in framebuffer mode ...

The other problem might be connected to this: I am using a program that tries to load it its own type1 fonts. However, when it tries to load these fonts,I get the following error message:

X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 8
Current serial number in output stream: 10

After starting, this font is basically not displayed which means that all menus seem to be empty.
