With the exception of telling them to add Option "ForcePCIMode" "True"
the outline for getting radeons to do dri has been successful enough to post the FAQ
for it over on the dri sourceforge page.

As for not remembering me, i wont be offended, since I don't have any cool
association/organization tag that would make me stand out. I guess I would be just
your ignorant average user.

As for being the enemy, those are your words, not mine. I said you had a rather
pessimistic outlook on the situation, which is something that open source doesn't
need, especially coming from inside the open source
community.

Also, that fact that things don't work automatically out of the box should never be
equivalent to not working at all. We could say the same thing of XFree86 or RH which
more often than not do not work out of the box "automatically". Should we give up on
them as well?

As a side note, I was interested in the XFree86 project as a whole, and was posting
here long before I owned my radeon, and as a matter of fact, the solution came to me
by other means than the list. I mainly just hang out here to help with problems that I
can, and don't answer the ones I can't. I don't think I would ever just pop a reply
that something didn't work, especially since it does work for some people.

BTW, how's your Radeon PCI card working?
