Hi I am a new Mandrake 9.0 user and am trying to configure my Aiptek Hyperpen 6000 tablet/mouse. I have downloaded the aiptek driver from the Gimp users group
http://gug.sunsite.dk/tutorials/aiptek-howto/ but I don't really know what to do past that. I logged in as root and edited my x86config 4* file but that doesn't do anything. What is the proper method for editing the config file? Where do the dowloaded driver files go?(I have them on a floppy) Under my gui configuration program it recognizes that I have an Aiptek tablet connected to a usb bus. When I open gimp and go to input devices it doesnt recognize anything. Someone else posted (one another website) that they had an aiptek autodetect and work on Mandrake 8.0. Also I saw someone say to configure for a usb mouse and it could work-I tried all the usb mouse options and got the tablet to move the cursor but only vertically. I haven't found any BASIC tutorials on linux and how to do any of this-generally just 'download a driver and configure something' I have posted on the Mandrake support page and on Gug's forum page...I have not received any replies or help. Could someone please give me some advice on what to do?
