or rather: doesn't /quite/ answer it. The support.html has a link to Dawes' page that explains how to make the 4.2.99 snapshot work but it's not easy to do (witness the problems Greg Julius are having). By searching the mailing list archive (please make the link to the two archives clickable at http://www.xfree86.org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86! Also make the links easier to find from the main page) one finds for example this mail from Mike Harris: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=xfree86&m=104243521032464&w=2 "XFree86 4.2.0, the version of XFree86 which comes with Red Hat Linux 8.0, does not support the Intel i845 integrated graphics adaptor. The XFree86 4.2.1 release does not either. Support for this chipset has been developed and is in the XFree86 CVS repository. It will be supported in the next release of Red Hat Linux, and RPM packages of CVS XFree86 are available in Red Hat rawhide for testing on non production systems." which I think is a better help to someone who sounds like they would have trouble compiling anything ;) -Peter _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
