I am running SuSE 8.0, with XFree86 updated to 4.2.0-107 . I have a Trident 3DImage 9850 AGP video card, which I believe is really the same thing as a 985 . (Is that true?)
I am having frequent crashes with this card (system locks up completely), especially at high resolutions, with the screen filled with colored vertical lines. Is there any explanation for this other than a bad video card? Assuming this is a bad card, can someone recommend an inexpensive AGP video card that has 3D acceleration (ie. can run TuxRacer) and is well supported by XFree86? Otherwise, can someone send me a sample XF86Config file for this card?
