Regarding: followup: XF86 4.2.1 plus IceWM - zombie area (window ?) remains on desktop Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------ XFree86 Version: XFree86 Version 4.2.1 (Debian 4.2.1-3 20021016191246 [EMAIL PROTECTED]) / X Window System
OS: Debian 3.0 unstable Area: Xserver ? Server: XFree86 (The XFree86 4.x server) Server: (ati driver) Description: Just noticed that the mail got clipped at 40KB, so "Repeat by" was missing :-\ Thus I'm submitting this followup. Repeat By: Not easily reproducible (this strange problem never occurred before). I'll just describe what the current system condition and history is: The system is a Dell Inspiron 5000e notebook with a custom 2.4.20 kernel with an uptime of 4 days (and 4 days of XFree86 uptime). This uptime is the combined uptime of several APM suspend/resume cycles (switching to/from console for every suspend/resume). I've been using IceWM multi-desktop switching extensively. Also, I'm running Wine extensively, which might have caused this problem, due to very lowlevel and powerful (and broken !? ;-)) X11 request processing. (in other words: now you know that you should also consider the possibility of Wine corrupting internal X11 structures via unchecked parameter processing by X11 functions or so) IceWM Debian version is 1.2.2-1. _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
