I'd like to be able to switch between keyboard mappings with the key combination Left-Alt-Shift. Can someone tell me how to set up the 'Options' line in XF86Config-4 correctly? One of the options is running xf86config. But it will reconfigure *everything*, and will run in non-attractive text-mode, and you will have to remember saving your resulting file to XF86config-4 instead of XF86config which is suggested by default.
Personally when I need something specific done (and syntax for which I don't remember), I backup my XF86config and run xf86config or xf86cfg, whichever allows me what I need to configure, then look into result and transfer what I need to my (restored) config. Of course that may not suit you.
Or you can just edit your XF86Config-4, find section "InputDevice" and add (or actually change) following line in that section to finally have there:
Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
Yeah, yeah, all these kinds of things really should be configured nicely by GUI program...
