[XFree86] Direction on X Programming

Hi, I'm a newcomer to X Programming and I would like to know what would I need to learn besides Xlib if I were to build a Window Manager?

Could anyone recommend any website or book?

I read something about Xt, what comes exactly to be and what is it for?

If I were to build a toolkit would I need to use it or something?
