All,

Quick context up-front:
        XFree86: version 4.2.99.4
OS: FreeBSD -current as of today (ie post 5.0-RELEASE)
Machine: Sony Vaio R505GL, with i830 controller
        Full log: http://www.xcllnt.net/~marcel/XFree86.0.log

After switching VTs, but it appears after a X server restart as well
if I observed correctly, the server fails to reinitialize the
controller. The log file contains:

Error in I830WaitLpRing(), now is 9436, start is 7435

Fatal server error:
lockup

See also the full log at the given URL above.

Q1: Is this a known issue?
Q2: What's the chance this is caused by a bug in the OS (agp driver?)

Thanks,
