Help, I need to get Xfree displaying properly on a Sony Plasma display. The display does 4x3 pr 16x9 and I have tried both and tried as many different refresh combos as I could think of. The problem I have is with the display set to 4x3 mode text utlizes all of the display fine but when I startx It only uses the middle 1/3 of the display and shows a perfect 1600 x 1400 or whatever the stock display settings are listed in RedHat XConfigurator.
I am using a Nvidia Riva II with 32 megs to drive it which should handle the resolution requirements fine. Has anyone developed an XF86Config for use with HDTV style plasmas like this? help!
