curious: your log mentions nvidia a lot while your XF86config-4 specifies (rightly so, I believe) r128, are you sure your config file IS the /etc/X11/Xf86Config-4 mentioned in the log. You may want to look at http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/dell.html However, A few of th C800 links lead to nowhere... You may want to comment out the HorizSync (possibly also the VertRefresh and let X guess what he can) Lionel
