You can add the lines:
VertRefresh a-b
HorizSync c-d
to your monitor section. Relace a,b by the vert ranges in Hz
and c-d by the horiz. ranges in kHz.
You can also start SaX2 to configure X and select a monitor
or specify the range manually.
If this doesn't help could you please provide more information 
(like log file)?
