Thanks for sending me those files.
I don't immediately so anything obviously silly.
However, as far as I understand it, Egbert's patch will have the effect
of disabling DDC on the second head. You could try plugging the monitor
into the other socket (you might need to power-cycle the machine to get
the console back) and or try playing with
Option "SwappedHead"
Although I have programs which can give me DDC on each head,
none of them seems to be able to select which head they are reporting on,
so I don't really undertand what is going on with DDC on dual-head.
