I have a brand new dell 450 workstation with a ATI Fire GL 1 card and KDS Rad-9p monitor.

I've put redhat 8.0 on the system fresh. The anaconda (installation) script recognized the monitor and assigned the card a generic Radeon driver.

Installation went smoothly up to X configuration. I tried to "test" the various monitors at this stage - all gave a blank screen before kicking back to anaconda. Thought I would do a post install config. I've tried every monitor/card combo I can think of - going way down the resolution food chain in an attempt to get anything to appear. No dice.

I put a old monitor on the system which I know runs X perfectly - nada.

I went to ati site and grabbed some installation files, but apparently none work with the most recent XFree package. I am running XFree86-4.2.0-72.

I've tried configuring for generic cards but still get a "no screens found" message. Any ideas?
