I have an Asus L7000G notebook (Celeron 600 440MX chipset and SMI 720 video card).
The driver seems to work fine, but, even after trying to set several
otpions like fifo_aggressive, pci_burst and pci_retry, or checking mtrr
settings, when I try to watch a DVD or any other video stream I can't get
a good result.
During replaying X uses 60% of CPU, leaving only 30% to software
decoding, and many frames are dropped by the movie player (xine or
mplayer) to keep audio and video syncronized.
Playing a DVD under Windows gives a much better result, but I have removed
Windows by this pc.
In attachment you find an X log (here fifo_aggressive, pci_burst and
pci_retry are unset but thay make no difference for performance).
Thanks in advance for any suggestion or information.
