Hi,
I've installed redhat 7.3 linux
distribution,
but when I try to start X session there's a problem
with monitor settings (I think so!) I gave during installation:
(EE) Vesa(0) No matching modes
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable
configuration
These errors refer to file
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4.
My monitor is a LCD Philips 150S3F,
I let default parameters during installation
(Generic VGA monitor, horiz. freq. 55-76, vert. freq 35-50 or something similar)
because there wasn't my monitor in the model's list.
I changed video card parameters from generic to
NVidia geforce 4 generic because I've an asus v9180.
I don't know why the settings don't work, grub boot
loader works in graphic way but linux not, and at the beginning of the
installation vmlinux understand I have a philips150S but when I configure
X-server there's no way to set my monitor model!
As you can see I'm not very expert linux user,
anyway I don't know what parameters have to be changed!
