My problem is that X starts up much slower than normal (for example, with the nv drivers). It is noticeable and quite annoying, so I asked a friend at local LUG and he said he had a similar problem which he fixed by upgrading to the latest drivers and stripping down a lot of the loaded X modules. I am using the latest drivers, on a Geforce3, and in addition I have removed the GLcore module. What others should I strip out? Is there any kind of FAQ or something that I can read for tweaking? Also, is there anything else I should do? Thank you!
