OS: linux 2.4.19 Area: Xserver Server: XFree86 (The XFree86 4.x server) Server: ati module Video Card: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility M4 AGP (rev 0) laptop is dell inspiron 8000 Description: unable to get 'option backingstore' to function. when I add it to the xf86config file, it doesn't cause problems but it doesn't perform as it should. moving some windows behind others causes the repaint NOT to occur. running "startx -- -bs" does fix the problem but of course this DISABLES backingstore which is not desirable.
