I had to use the mga_hal_drv.o binary module supplied on the G550 CD to get a samsung 171p and a G550 (DVI+VGA) to work in DVI mode. Unfortunately the version of XFree86 which ships with Red Hat 8.0 has had support for the binary module removed, so you have to use a different version of mga_drv.o. Come to think of it you might have success using the version of XFree86 on the Matrox CD. -- Dr. Andrew C.
