I'm looking for an Xserver that will work on most (i386) hardware with minimal configuration. It doesn't have to be accelerated or anything fancy.
What I want to do is put it on a bootable CD, have the user select a resolution, and it will "just work". I can do it, sort of, by using the ordinary 4.odd server, hacking around in xf86cfg, and loading the right driver module, but is there a better way? I'd like it to be small as well. I thought of using the Xvfb buffer, but does that interface with hardware, eg cards etc? X newbie, but not coding newbie, -- Peter Fairbrother _______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
