I'm a long term linux user but I'm new to freebsd.
trying to use the g550 dual-dvi card on freebsd with 4.7-stable (actually
4.8-RC but its almost the same).
I did do the build from the ports collection with the #define that sets the
matrox HAL driver (and I saw the matrox tar kit being fetched and built).
here's the line from startx:
(EE) MGA(0): MGAValidateVideoParameters from HALlib found the mode to be
invalid.
Error: b1902070
Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0
I can provide XF86config and more output on request.
