Hi,
I try to install X on a HP notebook with a ATI Radeon inside.
it seems that the chipID (0x4337) is not recognized by SaX2 as is neither the
monitor.
The card is reported as a Radeon IGP 345M by windows XP (sorry, it was on the
laptop...)
Linux reports is as a 340M, but does not recognize it.
When I install any Radeon-driver, SaX2 reports '/dev/apm_bios: No such device" -
in fact, the file is there, but not the device, as I'm not able to get a Kernel
with APM support to run (Suse 8.1)
the chip is a RS200M with a 350Mhz DAC.
so I tried to edit the XConfig file by inserting the chipID of several ATI
graphic-cards wit a XX200 chip using the fglr8x00 driver, X seems to recognize the
card, but the driver exits with the message "non-ATI-product" this is probably
because the PCI-information about this card reports
vendor 0x1002 (ATI)
device 0x4337 (??? this strange IGP)
subsystem 0x850 (?)
subvendor 0x13c (hewlet-packard.....)
can anybody give me a hint if/how it's possible to run this particular card under
X (b.t.w. I'm using the 4.3.0-release)

thanks

jens
