You probably need to set your X resolution down to something the TV
can handle (< 800x600) and you may need to use atitvout.

If you're on a laptop, the radeon driver may share a bug w. the r128
driver (well, I say the driver, it's just as much the BIOS' fault)
which causes it to silently reject low res modes. Not a problem for
non-laptops, afaik.
