Iam a final year BE(ECE) student of madras
university and an ardent fan of linux(not jus bcos i
hate msoft but also due to its functionality). I
installed PCQ linux 7.1(based on REDHAT Linux 7.1 with
kernel 2.4.2-2) long back when I got it on their CD
and it is still working fine. Being a LINUX fan I
advise my friends to install linux. The problem arose
when one of my friends (Balamurugan) asked me to
install linux on his machine as he needed it for his
project( He does a project on analysing ECg data
present in the MIT/BIH arrhythmia database who have
given only a linux version of the source code for
reading and writing to the database)n He sold his
monitor when it got repaired and now uses his TV, a
29" nqr by BPL, as his monitor with the help of a ATI
Tv tuner card which has the TV out option. during
installation the card was detected properly as ATI
RAGE 128 I was not able to go through monitor
selection .i gave custom and tried various refresh
rates but when it tested the mode the TV went blank.
After installation durin boot-up the login prompt was
displayed for a sec but then tried to load the Xserver
and scren went blank and was restored after some
time.I tried using Xconfigurator in vain. I have
installed Winlinux and there selected VESA compliant
Framebuffer and it works perfectly.how do i do this on
PCQUEST linux.The date for project submission is
nearing and my friend works in my system now making
mockery of my supporting LINUX saying that the card
works well under windows. if your updated version
supports this this please mail it to me.plz dont say X
does not support this as my friends will surely make
me feel bad.We need X for displaying the
waveforms.expecting a positive reply at the earliest.
