I have previously posted to comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc and
comp.windows.x for help with a problem I was having. See message IDs for
further detail:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] "More on XFree86 4.3.0/NFS lockup problem"
[EMAIL PROTECTED] "Re: More on XFree86
4.3.0/NFS lockup problem"

To quickly summarise, I upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.3.0 via the FreeBSD
ports system, and from that point on my machine would lock up hard if
trying to access any NFS mounted directory. Although it is non-obvious
what the link between X and NFS could be, it nevertheless is present as a
downgrade to 4.2.0 fixed the problem immediately. The problem appears to
either be in the 4.3.0 version of X, or the FreeBSD port that was created
from it.

I post this now to this list in attempt to give the right people a heads
up that something weird is going on with X and NFS. I'd still love to
know what the problem is (even though I can now no longer help debug the
problem since I've downgraded), but I am not subscribed to this list.
Therefore I would appreciate any replies be CC'ed to this address.

  Regards,
          Lee.

Lee Hamilton.
