Hi!

I'm working on a project, where I want to fully integrate a pc (old gericom
laptop) into my car (toyota prius).

The car comes by default with a touch screen, and I have already written a
small program for communicating with the display.

However, so far I had no luck in trying to make some kind of
software-emulator for the touchscreen input devices.

Basically, what my touchscreen delivers are coordinates for a rectangle (Xl,
Yl, Xh, Yh) where you touch it. These coordinates run from 1 to 255 each,
but the screen itself has only a physical resolution of some 20-40 lines
(the lcd screen behind it runs at ~400x234 pixel).

So, all I'd need would be a generic touchscreen driver, which doesn't want
to initialize the touchscreen hardware, but simply gets the touch inputs
from a fifo (say /dev/fifo) and does it's stuff with the raw data (i.e.
interpreting short touches as left-click, moving the cursor around and so
on).

Is there any possibility to get one of the existing touchscreen drivers to
do that (i have to convert the raw "car" data into something anyway, so I
can simulate the streaming data mode of any documented touchscreen)?

Any help would be appreciated!
