Can you try this with XFree86 4.3 ?
I have no problem with XFree86 4.2.99.901 on a neomagic chipset (Red Hat
7.3) or XFree86 with 4.3.99.1 on a Matrox G550 (Red Hat 6.2)
Both single processor.
