Sorry to bother you with this, and with so little to go on, but here's the story:
I'm running OS X (10.2.6) on a Pismo Powerbook. I already had installed "X11" (from the Apple site) but was advised by our departmental superuser to get XDarwin from SourceForge instead.
I ran the installer (XFree86_4.2.1.1) and it seemed to work fine.
When I run XDarwin, I first get the splash screen that asks whether I want it rootless or not...then there is a "flash" and XDarwin quits. I cannot find a log file anywhere. It is not in /var/log or /sw/var/log. Moreover a search of the hard drive for filenames including "xfree" showed me just the preferences file (apparently created at installation), the installer, and a bunch of stuff in my "sw" directory that seem to just be logs for Fink.
I'm not sure what to do!
