I had some experience with Xwin32, but never any success. I suggest downloading and installing Cygwin (unix shell and tools for windows) from http://www.cygwin.com/xfree. Once you install it and its X server, just open up the shell and type 'Xwin.exe -query 192.168.1.1' where 192... is the address of your linux box. The exact command may not be Xwin.exe, I haven't used it for a while. Hopefully that will help. Good luck.
