I'm a german and so my XF86Config-keyboard-section does look like this:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "Keyboard"
Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"

Option "XkbLayout" "de"
Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"

When I start the X-server as a non-root user via "startx", it theows out the
following line:
"Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap"
And the, every special char that can be drawn on the screen by prssing the
(AltGr)-key doesn't work (for example backslash, the ad-sign of email-
addresses and so on).
I'm using xfree86 version 4.3.0.1 and the special about that is, that
everything works fine if I'm logged in as root and I checked my home-
directories, there's no special x-configuration!!!
I would be very glad if anyone could help me!
