Dear XFree86 people,

I am trying to run your XFree86 4.3.0 on my Pentium computer with a
ATI Radeon VE 32 MB graphics card, a Highscreen LE 1024 monitor
(14 ) and Redhat 6.2 but my computer keeps on claiming to need Glide
after starting XFree86 with "XFree86 -configure". As your script told me

after running "XFree86 -check" I have Linux version 2.2.14-5.0 on an
i686
with object format ELF and libc version 6.1.3 (6.1), and my binary
distribution name is Linux-ix86-glibc21. So I have downloaded and
installed the appropriate XFree86 version of 4.3.0. The file
XF86Config.new says in Section "Device" my graphics card is detected as
follows:
        Driver: ati
        Bus ID: PCI:1:0:0
BoardName: Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE]
The problem now is first that I do not have Glide and dont know how or
where to get it without pay (unfortunately that is very important at the
moment)
and second I have only about 9 MB left on my Linux partition. I have
searched
your website and the Internet but cant find any of use to me. So I am
looking
for help now by directly writing to you because after all I have read on
man-
pages and such I believe that I do not really need Glide for my Radeon
card.
If I am not mistaken Glide is only neccessary for Voodoo and like cards.

So I would be very happy if you could tell me what to do now and if I
need
Glide installed indeed or if you could send me a patch or advise should
 not
have to get me Glide. I will of course send you my
/var/log/XFree86.0.log
file tomorrow in case you need it.
I thank you beforehand for your efforts.

Greetings

     Marco Bouillon

P.S.: As I have told one of your guys in a previous mail I want to
assure you
that no insult is meant by any of my sentences but that it
would just be
a mistake for I am not practiced in writing English. I hope you
will
         pardon me for that.
