Hello, I have a p4 @1.8 ghz on an asus p4-t mother board. I'm running a geforce 4 ti 4200 graphics card and 512 megs of rambus ram. My monitor is a mag lt576s (15 inch lcd max res 1024x768. V:30-30, H:60-75)
My os is redhat linux 9. I've been playing with this for a few days and I've had some success, but not on redhat. Using knoppix if i boot with the option fb1024x768 (setting the frame buffer) then it works. SuSE 8.2 installs in graphical mode but doesn't correctly detect my card once x works. but if i copy the XF86Config file from the one that awas used during install it works. now: redhat. no luck what so ever. If I use the default nv driver then my monitor complains the vertical sync is too high (and it is at 98hz) for some reason goes beyond what's indicated in the file. If however, i use the downloaded nvidia driver, i get no error. X starts and thinks that it's fine, i just get no screen. There is a warning comment though it says glXActiveScreens from /usr/X11....... is unresolved. no... copying XF86Config files around from other flavors doesn't seem to work.. any ideas? attached is XF86Config.saxsave --which is the version that works in suse. The redhat file is the standard generate file only that vertsync is set to 50-75 and horiz is set to 30-60 -------------------------- Matthew Wollenweber [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://justice.loyola.edu/~mwollenw/pgp.txt
