You have to specify your monitor sync ranges in your XF86config.
I do not know if there are automation tools under Suse (most probably - ARE),
but you can do it by manual edit.
Just find monitor section, write appropriate values in and restart X.
Example: my monitor section ():
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "NEC 1860NX"
HorizSync 31-82
VertRefresh 59-61
Option "DPMS"
EndSection
Or alternatively it may be that you choosed too high resolution and your
monitor simply can't provide such high horizontal sync. In this case you can
only lower resolution.
