[XFree86] Xkb problem

Can anyone give me the correct syntax for the -xkbmap parm.  I have set 
up a file called xkbconfig.xkb, and compiled it using xkbcomp, but not 
matter whether I point to the xkb, the xkm, or with no extension at 
all, I get the same error "(EE) Error opening keymap file..."
