sir, here are the details of a peculiar problem that i am facing:- it is x-86 solaris 9 machine. /xfree86 folder contents:-
extract extract.exe gnu-tar Xbin.tgz Xdoc.tgz Xetc.tgz Xfenc.tgz Xfnts.tgz Xinstall.sh Xlib.tgz Xman.tgz Xmod.tgz Xpdf.tgz Xxserv.tgz ----------------------------------------------------------------------- THE ERROR that i am facing (The Xinstall.sh script runs and given below is the message):- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Extracting Xetc.tgz into a temporary location... ==Extracting /xfree86/Xetc.tgz== Do you want to overwrite the app-defaults config file? (y/n) y Installing the app-defaults config files... /xfree86/gnu-tar: Cannot change to directory .etctmp/X11/app-defaults: No such file or directory /xfree86/gni-tar: Error not recoverable, exiting --------------------------------------------------------------------- can u throw some light regarding this.. i have tried to create the folders manually but still the same error crops up.
